Renovation of the "casera" and cattlesheds started in June 1892 under supervision of master builder "Antonio Cian di Grazioso Toma".

| After winter break renovation restarted in April 1893 and in the same summer the "malga" was ready for pasture. |

The Baion Refuge was inaugurated in 1971 by the local "C.A.I." station of "Domegge di Cadore" after renovation of the old "malga", that was used by first climbers as logistic base to climb the "Marmarole".

Named after to "Elio Boni", climber and ex "Domegge di Cadore" mayor, the refuge is located on southern slope of "Ciastelin" at about 1825 mt. height. |
